Becoming a paddler

This course will help you understand the safety and planning of any trips with fellow paddlers you may want to do, along with some skills on SUPing. Whilst you may come to feel more equipped individually it is always safer to paddle in groups rather than on your own.

As a member with NCC you will get to continue developing SUP skills, meet other like-minded members and become part of our growing paddling community. You will be able to use SUP club equipment only or simply bring your own. When using NCC equipment it is a requirement that you must paddle in groups of 3 or more.

We encourage all paddlers to obtain a British Canoeing On the Water membership where you can register your awards, which includes a waterways licence and insurance to paddle over 4,500km of river navigations and canals across England and Wales.
