Course information

Throw yourself into an immersive, energetic and kinetic adventure weekend on the spectacular north Pembrokeshire coast of Wales.

Paddle, jump and traverse an incredible landscape, taking precious time to explore, discover and reconnect.

When? 29 April – 1 May 2022. What will we be doing?

Friday

PM: Arrive at the eco lodge from 17:00. Stretch your legs with a short walk down through the woods to Abermawr, a secluded local beach, and breathe in the fresh sea air. Return and settle into our cosy lodge with a welcoming evening meal at 19:30 and relax, ready for tomorrow’s adventure.

Saturday

AM and PM: After a full Welsh breakfast, head off to a wild North Pembrokeshire a full day out sea kayaking, paddling under immense sea cliffs and gazing into the aquatic world beneath you, encountering an abundance of unspoilt coastal scenery and wildlife.

EVE:Weather allowing, bonfire and perhaps a well-deserved Pembrokeshire beer or cider from the lodge bar.

Sunday

AM: After breakfast, we'll be dropped off on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path for a hike back to the lodge. From this gently meandering well-traversed trail, swathed in sea campion, yellow gorse and pink thrift flowers, you can spot inquisitive grey seals lazing on the rocky shoreline, pods of harbour porpoise and Atlantic sea birds fishing, fulmars gliding and kittiwakes nesting. Mull over mesmerising rock pools in secret coves where ruby-red beadlet anemones sway, blennies dart between pebbles and winkle shells shimmer in the sun. Comb the tideline for a mermaid’s purse or sea-smoothed pottery amongst the driftwood.

Optional alternative: Scramble, traverse and ledge-leaping into crystal clear plunge pools as you explore the coast by coasteering (£55 extra).

PM: Depart after a hot lunch back at the lodge.

Where will we stay?

We’ll stay in Preseli Venture’s unique 5 star graded eco lodge accommodation.

The beautifully furnished and spacious restaurant and lounge offers views down to the ancient woodland and across a rolling pastoral landscape. The sheltered courtyard provides outdoor seating with spectacular views down to the ocean and the Penbwchdy headland. Dine al-fresco with Nature’s soundtrack of ravens, choughs and woodpeckers echoing through the valley. There’s plenty of green space outdoors for yoga, reading in the sun and ball games, including a volleyball pitch, and plenty to keep the you entertained indoors, with a pool table, table football, lots of books and a bountiful box of board games!

We will be room sharing, with the exact rooms and numbers per room to be confirmed when we see who signs up.
