Prerequisites for the course:
**You must be over 16 years of age. **
**You must be able to swim 50 meters (outdoors) in light clothing.**
The course fee is £90 for the six sessions, and the cost of joining Newbury Canoe Club is £8.50 p/m with a £2 fee for equipment. We also offer family and under 18 discounts.
The course covers basic paddling skills and water safety, in both kayak and canoe.
During the first session you will be trained in conducting a capsize drill (which means getting wet!) and there will be at least one other session where you will practice rescue drills (which, again, means getting wet).
